Glossary
Dedimple
- Removes dimple distortion from the ends of round tubing that has been
caused by a single blade punch type shear cutoff machine, which is usually
found on the in-line mill cutoff.
Double
Punch Cut
- Campana does a majority of its recutting on "Haven" cut off
machines. These
machines employ a dual blade cutting action.
- The horizontal blade makes an initial scarfing cut as the vertical blade
begins to descend.
- The Vertical blade enters through the Scarf and shears the tube clean,
with a minimal burr.
Wire
Brush
- The cut lengths of tubing are passed through a 16" OD x n 18" long cylindrical
wire brush. This brush hits both the outside and inside of the cut end.
Although we cannot guarantee a burr-free end, this process produces an
end condition that has a minimal burr.
