Sheffield Steel produces a wide variety of specialty hot-rolled bar products, including flats, squares, rounds and channels for end use applications that include farm equipment, auto parts, conveyor assemblies, pole line hardware, wrenches and construction machinery.

We have production facilities in Joliet, IL and Sand Springs, OK. Our Sand Springs facility houses two electric arc furnaces capable of producing more than 600,000 tons of MBQ and SBQ steel annually. The billets produced from our melt shop can be rolled into round bar, squares or special shape sections at our new 12" rolling mill in Sand Springs, OK., or rolled into bar squares, flats or special shape sections at our 12" rolling mill in Joliet, IL.

Our Sand Springs rolling mill produces bar ROUNDS from 9/16" to 2-½" diameters with a rolling schedule that cycles every 8 to 9 weeks. These sizes are produced in a wide variety of carbon grades from M1008 to C1085, HSLA steels, re-sulpherized 11xx series and some 41xx and 86xx alloy series.

Our Joliet rolling mill produces bar SQUARES to 5" and FLATS from ¼" x 1-½" to 1-½" x 4" (up to 5" wide on flats 1" thick or less). We also produce a wide variety of Round Cornered Squares, Near Squares and true Metric Sizes! These sizes are also produced in the same grades as Sands Springs plus some additional grades including 12Lxx, 15XX, 1118 and others. The rolling schedule cycles every quarter. It is a little longer than most rolling cycles because our can accept and produce orders for as little as 5 tons per size. A single rolling might have 600 or more sizes.
